Self-Portraits

Each year the students of Yorkshire Academy embark on a creative journey that consists of learning about art history and applying the artistic techniques used during a particular period. As a part of that journey our 5th grade students, while learning about Leonardo Da Vinci, applied the traditional artist’s technique of “griding” to make their own self-portraits. These portraits not only showcase the talent of our students but also serve as a solution to tackling one of the most difficult and abstract traditions of portraiture.
